Cordless tool batteries & chargers
Power tools can last for years and, over time, may require the replacement of batteries and battery chargers. When you’re in the market, there are several types of power tool batteries to consider.
The three main types are Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) batteries, Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), and Lithium-ion (LI-ion). The type of battery you choose will depend on your needs and the specification requirements of your equipment. Power tool batteries may be made for specific brands and brand specific cordless tool batteries may not be interchangeable.
To help prolong the life of your cordless tool batteries fully charge the battery before your first use. Do not leave the battery dormant; it’s recommended to use the battery at least once every three weeks. When storing your power tool battery be sure the storage space is clean, dry, cool, and away from heat or metal objects. NiCad, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries will lose their charge during storage. So, remember to recharge the batteries before use. Lastly, for NiCad and NiMH batteries make sure the battery is fully discharged before recharging it.
